Project 2
Sequential Figure & Ground
The principle of figure-ground is associated with known Gestalt principles. In simplicity, it explains how brains will naturally seek out figures and forms through a distinguished figure and ground. To develop a visually compelling composition, students learn to understand human perception and how different aspects of visual principles play into the design world.
Through value transition, a more negative background was utilized in the front and end, with positive aspects prominent in the middle. The Gestalt principle of flow allows for the weight and forms of the letters to connect, aiding in the flow horizontally. The letters are stacked atop each other forming integrated patterns.
